The itinerary

Flying is not an option throughout the trip - we have made a resolution not to take the plane.

Our itinerary is designed to maximise on cultural and geographic diversity while taking climatic and political constraints into account: we will cross the Karakorum mountains before the winter, avoid the monsoon season in India, steer clear of inaccessible Burmese borders, spend the winter in South-East Asia, arrive in Beijing just before the Olympics to finally reach the steppes of Mongolia and the Siberian taiga in the summer. India, China and Russia will receive special attention as the three "giants" of the Asian continent.
